South Placer Firefighters - Local 3809

Welcome to our Website.

The South Placer Firefighters, Local 3809, are proud to be affiliated with both the International Association of Firefighters and California Professional Firefighters. We represent 32 full-time Firefighters and Paramedics employed by the South Placer Fire District which serves the Granite Bay and neighboring  communities. We are committed to providing the community we serve with the highest level of emergency response possible.

We serve over 26,100 residents within approximately 35 square miles of Granite Bay and unincorperated Placer County, including 1 square mile within the Town of Loomis to the North. The current average home we protect is 6,110 square feet, with several homes over 15,000 square feet. Many of the homes in the South Placer Community are built in a rural environment, creating a significant wildland-urban interface.

Currently, the South Placer Fire District operates 5 staffed stations 24/7 with the 48-96 shift schedule. The District is staffed with no less than 11 on-duty Firefighters with 1 Battalion Chief. In addition to our fire and rescue response, we also provide Paramedic treatment and transport services. The total number of calls for service in the 2011 year was 1888.
